POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of the NOC Engineer is to provide customer support for Bluebird Fiber customers. Position directly monitors BBF network elements, network performance and facilities. NOC Engineers work directly with Field Operations and NOC Engineers on trouble tickets to coordinate, isolate, diagnosis, and repair issues in a timely manner. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be able to work in multiple systems and manage multiple tickets simultaneously.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year in telecommunications or equivalent technical training
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in an NOC environment in the telecommunications industry, preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Familiarity with trouble ticking systems
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies.
  • DWDM and/or MPLS fundamentals.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in a 24x7 environment
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment with minimal. guidance, while focusing on a sense of urgency for customer-impacting issues.
  • Multi-task and maintain composure in a demanding work environment.
  • Nokia, ADVA, Ekinops and MRV experience, preferred
  • Familiarity with trouble ticking systems, preferred
  • Knowledge of Fiber optic fundamentals, preferred
  • Experience performing circuit testing procedures and test equipment, preferred
