Get to Know the Opportunity:
As a member of Voya's Retirement RFP Team, the RFP Specialist is responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering high-quality Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and consultant questionnaire responses. This role plays a critical part in helping the organization win new business by ensuring proposals meet client requirements, align with company standards, and communicate clear, compelling value propositions.

The Contributions You'll Make:

  • Assess incoming RFP/RFI requests to develop response strategies, identify resource needs, and establish timelines that support on-time delivery and strong advancement outcomes.
  • Manage multiple concurrent proposal projects with varying complexity under tight deadlines.
  • Support proposal development across multiple market segments, including Small-Mid Corporate, Tax Exempt, Government, Large Corporate, Defined Benefit (DB), and Non-Qualified (NQ) markets.
  • Leverage proposal automation tools and platforms (e.g., Catapult, Envestnet, ProposalTech, RFPDirector, Responsive,) to log, track, and complete proposal responses.
  • Research and develop responses through collaboration within proposal systems and with key stakeholders.
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) across functions (e.g., Senior Management, Legal, IT, Product, Plan Administration, Implementation, Investments) to gather and incorporate accurate content.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Sales, and other teams to ensure all proposal components are complete and aligned.
  • Draft new content as needed, translating complex or technical information into clear, concise, and compelling language for inclusion in the proposal content library.
  • Communicate differentiated value propositions tailored to client and prospect needs.
  • Perform formatting, proofreading, and editing to ensure proposals meet quality expectations and adhere to branding standards.
  • Manage proposal production requirements, including print configurations and electronic delivery schedules.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development and adoption of best practices.
  • Participate in ongoing reviews of proposal content and partner with content owners to ensure accuracy and relevance within the content library.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other RFP Specialists, as applicable.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of RFP writing experience
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent research, decision-making, and prioritization capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
  • Proven ability to collaborate with a wide range of functional and technical SMEs

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Advanced understanding of Retirement Services
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines
  • Experience with Responsive (formerly RFPIO) or similar proposal automation platforms
  • Intermediate proficiency with Office 365 tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Copilot)

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that's fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
