NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: Elementary Teacher - 1st grade
REPORTS TO: Elementary Principal
STARTING DATE: Fall 2026
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate in K-6 Elementary.
  • Highly Qualified as defined by the Michigan Department of Education.
  • Graduate of a recognized college or university.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge and confidence in teaching all subject areas to elementary students.
  • Experience with elementary-age students.
  • ZA (Early Childhood) endorsement from Michigan.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Google Classroom and other online instructional tools.
  • Knowledge of ELA and math curriculum, including the understanding of the depth of student knowledge and mastery of skills needed for students to meet the Michigan State Standards.
  • Knowledge of administering and interpreting assessments (state and local assessments, NWEA, Acadience, etc.)
  • Competency in utilizing tchnoloby to enhance instruction and student learning.
  • Knowledge of standards-based grading and reporting, and writing assessments and scales to the standards.
  • Knowledge and experience in highly engaging instructional strategies, including differentiation, hands-on and cooperative learning, manipulatives, cognitively guided instruction, etc.
  • Experience in identifying students for MTSS and designing instruction for remediation, reinforcement, and enrichment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and be a positive team member throughout the building and district.
