Position Summary

The Abstract Searcher is responsible for researching Iowa county land records to compile accurate property abstract data. This role focuses on identifying property ownership history, verifying legal descriptions, and documenting all instruments affecting title.

The Abstract Searcher works closely with Abstracters and production teams to ensure abstract updates are completed accurately and delivered on time.

  • Conduct thorough searches of Iowa county land records

  • Identify mortgages, judgments, liens, easements, restrictions, and other encumbrances

  • Compile documentation needed for abstract preparation

Accuracy and Documentation
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of research findings

  • Maintain organized documentation of all search results

  • Coordinate with Abstracters regarding missing instruments or clarification requests
