| API Key | A secret credential used to authenticate requests to the ZipRecruiter Partner API via Basic authentication. |
| ATS | Applicant Tracking System. Software used by employers and recruiters to manage job postings, applications, and hiring workflows. |
| CDATA | Character Data. An XML construct (<![CDATA[...]]>) used in Feed Import to wrap content that may contain special characters. |
| CPC | Cost Per Click. The amount charged each time a job seeker clicks on a job listing. Set via the cpc field in the Jobs API. |
| CRUD | Create, Read, Update, Delete. The four basic operations supported by most of the Partner APIs (POST, GET, PUT, DELETE). |
| Facility | An optional finer-grained identifier than employer_id, used to split one employer_id's users across separate ZipRecruiter billing organizations — for example, franchise locations or sub-brands that need independent payment methods. Set via the facilityId field in the Sponsorship API. |
| Feed Import | An XML-based method for bulk job ingestion, as an alternative to the Jobs API. See Feed Import. |
| HMAC-SHA256 | Hash-based Message Authentication Code using SHA-256. Used to sign and verify Apply Webhook payloads. |
| Job ID | A unique identifier for a job in the partner's system, passed as the job_id field. Must be unique per partner. |
| JSON | JavaScript Object Notation. The data format used for request and response bodies across all Partner APIs. |
| Partner | An ATS, job board, or other platform that integrates with ZipRecruiter via the Partner API. |
| RDB | Resume Database. ZipRecruiter's searchable database of candidate resumes. The RDB Integration delivers sourced candidates to your ATS. |
| Screener Questions | Pre-screening questions presented to applicants during the application process. Managed via the Questions API or Screener Questions Spec. |
| TrafficBoost | A paid feature that increases a job's visibility in search results and job alerts. Applied via the Features API. |
| Webhook | An HTTP callback. ZipRecruiter sends candidate data to your endpoint when an application is submitted. See Apply Webhook. |
| XML | Extensible Markup Language. The data format used by Feed Import for bulk job ingestion. |
