Job Description


General Manager                           

The White Pass Village Inn seeks a Manager to oversee customer service and operations of the condominium complex.  The Manager reports to the Board of Directors and manages a guest service staff of 3-7 people, providing both owners and renters occupying units with superior customer service.  Must possess a high level of autonomy, reliability, and good judgement.   The candidate should have a background that includes business management, accounting/bookkeeping, marketing, online technology, basic real estate maintenance and guest service, preferably through a combination of education and experience in the lodging industry. 

Housing is available on-site.  Annual salary: $48-60k, DOE.  Duties include:

  • Oversee and maintain a new online reservation system.  Includes controlling settings and configuration as well as the updating of seasonal offers, pricing, and other parameters and policies.
  • Review and implement rental marketing and public relations programs to increase group, special event, shoulder, and off-season rentals.
  • Leverage online and social media internet exposure and booking opportunities.
  • Coordinate owner submission of unit availability.
  • Establish and control annual operating budget and manage annual, quarterly and monthly general accounting activities.
  • Approve employee timesheets and submit payroll information to payroll service for payment. 
  • Review, approve, and distribute monthly owner rental activity and statements.
  • Prepare monthly unit occupancy reports for regulatory/financial reporting.
  • Complete entries into bookkeeping system.
  • Hire, train, and supervise guest services employees including housekeeping, pool, snow removal and grounds maintenance personnel.
  • Staffing of the front desk, performing owner and renter check-ins/check-outs and responding to email and phone inquiries.
  • Oversee real time tracking of occupancy, cleaning, and maintenance status of all units.
  • Assist Board of Director in implementation of periodic refurbishment of rental units.
  • Perform regular maintenance and housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Be available for scheduled overnight on-call shifts. 
  • Attend Board Meetings and prepare reports upon the Board’s request.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

The Village Inn is located at the White Pass Ski Area on US Highway 12 between Yakima and Packwood, WA.  The 50-unit complex is open year-round and the units are individually owned and available for public rental.  Seasonal activities at the Pass include downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing.  The property is also convenient to Mt. Rainier National Park, Mt. St. Helens, and the Yakima Valley.
