Detroit Medical Center and University Pediatricians are actively seeking a Pediatric Physiatrist to join The Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. The Division specializes in the rehabilitation and medical management of children with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neuromuscular disorders, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Children’s Hospital of Michigan provides a 14-bed, CARF certified, inpatient rehabilitation program. Division members also provide evaluations and continuity care for patients in an outpatient clinic setting. Specialty clinics and programs include: Myelomeningocele/Spinal Cord Injury clinic, Muscular Dystrophy clinic, Intrathecal Baclofen Pump Program, and Alcohol Block clinic for treatment of spasticity. Physicians also participate on the trauma team and frequently collaborate with the divisions of Neurosurgery, Neurology, Orthopaedics, and Genetics.
Children’s Hospital of Michigan supports the medical education and training programs of Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University. Academic opportunities are available as medical students, residents, and fellows rotate through the division.
Candidates must be BE/BC with an active Michigan license (or eligibility to obtain one). Pediatric Physiatry fellowship training is a plus. Candidates who have previous experience or a genuine interest/passion working with pediatric patients are also encouraged to apply.
