**HIGH VOLUME EXPERIENCE**

BASIC PURPOSE:

Responsible for set-up, mixing of drinks, service and clean up of bar area and table section while enduring quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance of IHR standards and profit maximization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Make and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by IHR standards.  Bartender should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive and organized bar.  This position offers opportunity for casual conversation, creativity and allows for building on ones style and previous bartending experiences. (30%)
  • Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner; maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.  Greets guests warmly with a smile and eye contact.  (10%)
  • Accurately and quickly take and place all food orders with the kitchen, according to the prescribed procedure. Promotes additional sales.  Checks for table setting completeness.  (10%)
  • Answer all questions about cooking methods, menu items, specials and prices of all items. Has knowledge of products and specifications.  (5%)
  • Prepare and deliver beverage and dessert orders as required. Controls the amount of alcohol served, so that guests do not become intoxicated. (10%)
  • Check food to ascertain that appearance, temperature and portions are correct and deliver food orders in a timely fashion.  Picks up, garnishes, and serves any food that is ready to be run from the window.  After serving each course, checks back with guest for satisfaction. Promptly removes empty glasses, dishes and silverware as party is finished .  (10%)
  • Ring guest checks, collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by IHR policies and procedures.  Secure the checks with name, room number, guest name or credit cards if required/ not a hotel guest.  (10%)
  • Complete liquor requisitions and dry requisitions. Make sure the requisition get done accordingly and in a consistent basis at your best knowledge and understanding, with all the spirits, cordials, etc. being at the right par. Working close and efficient with purchasing and communicate properly on specific product needs - delivery, time and space. (5%)
  • Know and comply with state liquor laws.  (5%)
  • Perform all side work duties according to side work schedules.  (5%)

   

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Education: No formal education required. Bartending school diploma is a plus.
  • Experience: Two years bartending experience preferred.
  • Age: Must be 18  years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Communication and hospitality skills (English required)
  • TIPs trainable - Ability to work Micros computer system
  • Ability to lift up to 36 pounds.
