Safety Manager - Full-time

SAFETY MANAGER We are actively looking for an experienced Safety Manager with at least 10 years of experience.  The selected candidate will be responsible for implementation of programs, policies and procedures that will improve and maintain a safe workplace through compliance of health, environmental and safety laws. The Safety Manager must display excellent attention to details in order to identify potential hazards and dangerous conditions.  Be creative and able to discover opportunities for improvement and responsible for the execution of safety programs.  The ability to interpret and clearly communicate OSHA guidelines and administrative rulings is fundamental.  The ultimate goal is to maintain a workplace that, at least, meets and preferably exceeds all industry related requirements of occupational health and safety. RESPONSIBILITIES Measures and evaluates practices and procedures related to risk assessment and compliance Drafts, prepares and implements policies aiming at fostering a culture of health and safety Creates, develops and implements health and safety plans in accordance with legal guidelines Identifies and recommends solutions to safety issues and adoption of preventive initiatives Conducts periodical inspection of equipment and machinery Displays a keen awareness and current knowledge of safety, environmental and health issues  Supervises and monitors compliance of safety laws and policies Conducts accidents investigations and proposes corrective and disciplinary measures REQUIREMENTS At least 10 (ten) years of experience as a Safety Manager preferably in the metallurgical industry Communicates clearly and objectively both verbally and in writing Solid understanding of safety, environmental and health issues, laws and guidelines Excellent knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment Good organizational and leadership skills Exceptional attention to detail Acts proactively    BS/BA in Safety Management or relevant field is required; Master's degree is preferred           Compensation includes, and is not limited to, salary commensurate with experience, health and life insurance, matching 401K, 10 paid holidays and bonus based on performance.
