Veterinarian, Mixed Animal Practice, Rural Colorado

We are a mixed animal veterinary practice in Eastern Colorado with food animal/4-H and equine comprising 40% of our business and 60% companion animals mostly consisting of dogs and cats, with some pocket pets. Our organization is an established 2 veterinarian practice and are seeking to fill the 2nd veterinarian position.  

Eastern Colorado Veterinary Services offers in-house and ambulatory calls Monday through Saturday and emergency service after-hours and on Sundays.  Our staff is focused on patient and client care communication and are excellent with being cross-trained in all aspects of the business.  For improved patient care, we have invested in on-site laboratory equipment, in-house and portable CR radiology, ultrasound, Tonopen, Pulse Ox/EKG, Laser Therapy unit, Silencer chute, portable tub alley way, indoor calving/surgical pen, subscription to Global Vet Link, multi-species isolation area, Avimark software, equine PRP equipment, and an IV administration unit.

We are searching for a professional who is self-motivated, excels at communication and is a team player, exhibiting our core values of honesty, ethical medicine and compassion for patients. Respect for clients and staff is also of utmost importance. Because of the patient demographics of our clinic, applicants should be comfortable with both large and small animal medicine and surgery. In order to maintain our level of work ethic and staff dedication, the associate must be able to work well with the staff assisting in all daily tasks, while taking the lead in patient care by respectfully communicating in a polite and professional manner. Thorough, accurate and timely patient records will be expected as they are imperative to patient well-being and staff/client communication.

We offer a stocked veterinary unit, assistance, if needed, with procurement of the vehicle needed for ambulatory procedures, IRA contribution after 2 years of employment, compensation for required continuing education, vacation time and a family friendly workplace.  Complete salary and benefit package will be negotiated based on experience. Eastern Colorado Veterinary Services desires an individual looking for long-term stable employment with the practice.
