Pastry Chef / Cake Production - Cakes Galore and So Much More

Cakes by Happy Eatery is a retail bakery serving the Washington Metro area for over 32 years.  The bakery produces an assortment of cakes and pastries, with some bread production.  The cake designs are unlimited and the menu selections are customizable, perfect for any wedding, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events, and/or other special celebration.  Pastry selections include customized poured sugar cookies, dessert tables, and a dining room showcase complete with cannolis, fruit tarts, cupcakes, napoleons, petite fours, french macarons, sliced cakes, and more.

If you are interested in creating desserts without the restrictions of a preset style and design album, consider Cakes by Happy Eatery, a retail bakery in Manassas.  We create delicious looking ready to go cakes to the custom, 3D, and tiered cakes.   We are looking for full-time permanent pastry chefs and cake decorators.  Our ideal candidate has the following qualities:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a cake and/or dessert production, preferably in a commercial kitchen.

• Has the ability to torte, frost, and decorate cakes using whipped, butter, and cream cheese icings, along with fondant and marzipan.

• Possess physical stamina to stand throughout the day, bend and lift ingredients to make gallons of fillings and creams, and pickup heavily decorated and multi-tiered cakes.

• Must be self-motivated, have the ability to think creatively, able to multi-task, communicate well, and work as a team member.

• Work weekend and holiday schedules.

• Create and expand the current menu and design ideas.
