DESCRIPTION:
Scottsdale-based ANDERSON Advertising & Public Relations, a full-service advertising, creative and marketing agency, is is seeking an experienced hybrid Media Director/Buyer. This position will lead both traditional and digital media deliverables and staff.
Responsible for the overall Media Department and team’s performance, this position will be a steward of the entire media planning/buying process, providing strategic recommendations to the Client while mentoring the staff. The Media Director/Buyer is expected to have strong leadership, working knowledge of both traditional and digital media. The position will actively develop and/or lead staff to analyze, lead, plan and execute media assignments, consistently engaging with Account Service and Clients. The Media Director/Buyer will contribute strategy, develop all media deliverables while managing staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ownership of all media department assignment and deliverables
Leader with working knowledge in both traditional and digital media, including, but not limited to broadcast TV/Radio, Out-of-Home, print, online, digital, social, sponsorships, promotions
Initiate, execute and manage all media plans and buys while providing guidance and support to the media team
Coordinates all traditional media details including planning, development, presentations, buying, budgets, authorizations and placement
Develops and negotiates best price, quality and placement of advertisement, knowing how to achieve aggressive goals while maintaining long-term
Generates and maintains all Client budgets and plans, while monitoring results and providing updated reports
Compile and coordinate research data relevant to media plan; establishing strategic, even creative opportunities for plan and Client
Keep abreast of fluctuations in media popularity ratings while continuing to identify best placement to reach identified audience and goals
Maintains a responsive working relationship with Clients and staff
Oversees insertion orders, traffic and material specifications
Has an in-depth understanding of the Phoenix media marketplace and isn’t new to buying it
Breeds and maintains agency relationships with all media vendor Account Executives
REQUIREMENTS:
10+ years of media planning AND buying experience
Experience with software:
Strata
Workamajig, Clients & Profits, Advantage or other project management software.
Experience with digital media platforms (display, rich media, native) and managed platforms (social, pay per click)
Experience with reporting and analytics
Must be able to originate media objective, strategy, brief, plan, flowchart, authorizations, POVs
Maintains media budgets and spend summaries
Works with accounting to manage invoices, billings, make-goods, recap reports
Understanding of available targeting technologies
Understanding of available rich media capabilities
Understanding of general activation capabilities of all available digital media tactics
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent presentation skills
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Keynote, Google Drive
Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Business, Marketing, Communications or relevant category
Passion for latest media trends with ability to seek out Client opportunities, supporting growth
