    Job description

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair marine diesel engines on a variety of vessels
    • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections
    • Service and repair propulsion systems, generators, fuel systems, and cooling systems
    • Conduct engine overhauls and rebuilds as needed
    • Inspect vessels to identify mechanical issues and recommend repair solutions
    • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data
    • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety and environmental regulations
    • Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed
    • Collaborate with yard team, captains, and project managers to meet deadlines


    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic (marine experience preferred)
    • Strong knowledge of marine diesel engines and vessel mechanical systems
    • Experience working on larger vessels (commercial or private yachts preferred)
    • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues independently
    • Familiarity with engine brands such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, or similar is a plus
    • Ability to read schematics and technical documentation
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship


    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to work in a boatyard environment, including confined spaces and varying weather conditions
    • Capable of lifting 50+ lbs and performing physically demanding tasks
    • Comfortable working on and around water and vessels
