Position Summary:
The Territory Manager is responsible for growing revenue, expanding market share, and building long-term customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role serves as the primary point of contact for key accounts, identifying opportunities to grow existing business while developing new customer relationships.
Successful candidates bring a strong sales mindset, excellent business acumen, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Territory Managers operate with a high degree of ownership and accountability, partnering with customers, stores, and cross-functional teams to drive profitable growth.
What You'll Do
Drive Sales Growth
  • Develop and execute territory growth plans to increase revenue and market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Grow existing customer relationships through proactive account management.
  • Monitor territory performance and take action to address opportunities and challenges.

Build Customer Relationships
  • Develop strong partnerships with commercial and professional marine customers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, business reviews, and prospecting activities.
  • Deliver value-driven solutions that support customer needs and business objectives.
  • Maintain a high level of customer engagement and responsiveness.

Manage Sales Activity & CRM
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage customer information, opportunities, and sales activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, account notes, and forecasts.
  • Track progress against territory goals and sales objectives.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on customer and prospect opportunities.

Collaborate Across the Business
  • Partner with Sales Directors, store teams, and other business partners to support sales growth.
  • Participate in business reviews and sales planning activities.
  • Build strong working relationships with assigned stores and field partners.
  • Support customer events, local marketing initiatives, and in-store activities.

Field-Based Selling
  • Spend the majority of your time engaging directly with customers in the field.
  • Conduct customer visits, prospect meetings, and site reviews throughout the territory.
  • Travel regularly within the assigned region to support customer and business needs.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven success in sales, business development, account management, or territory management.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Experience using CRM tools; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within an assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Marine industry, boating, commercial marine, industrial, distribution, or related sales experience.
  • Experience managing a geographic sales territory.
  • Knowledge of consultative selling and account development practices.
