We are partnering on a confidential search for a Chief Nursing Officer to lead nursing and clinical services for a two-campus surgical hospital organization in the greater Oklahoma City area. This executive leader will play a central role in shaping clinical quality, patient safety, staffing strategy, operational performance, and nursing excellence across the organization.

About the Organization
This opportunity is with a multi-campus hospital setting offering both inpatient and outpatient services, with a strong surgical orientation and a meaningful executive scope. Across the campuses, the organization includes 45 inpatient beds, 16 operating rooms, 5 procedure rooms, emergency services, ICU capability, and approximately 27,000 surgical cases annually. Key service lines include orthopedics, spine, GI, general surgery, breast, GYN, urology, interventional pain, ENT, and robotic surgery.
Position Summary
The Chief Nursing Officer provides executive leadership for all nursing and clinical services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. This leader will be responsible for clinical excellence, regulatory readiness, staffing strategy, performance improvement, and alignment of nursing operations with broader organizational goals. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CNO will partner closely with physicians, administrators, and the governing board to advance both care delivery and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all nursing and clinical departments with both strategic and operational oversight
- Ensure safe, effective, compliant patient care through strong nursing practice standards
- Oversee staffing models, labor planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Drive quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives
- Partner with physicians, executives, and board leadership on organizational strategy
- Maintain nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Support leadership development, employee engagement, and performance management
- Integrate research, best practices, and data-driven decision-making into care delivery
- Represent nursing leadership in medical staff, executive, and board-level meetings
Ideal Background
- Current or recent experience as a Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, or high-level surgical services leader
- Prior leadership experience within a hospital or surgical hospital environment
- Strong preference for candidates with for-profit and/or physician-owned setting experience
- Surgical background strongly valued
- Hands-on leadership style with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable with technology, data, and systems thinking
- Known for high standards, operational follow-through, and a commitment to excellence
Qualifications
- Master’s degree required
- Executive-level leadership background in nursing/clinical operations
- Prior management experience required
