Position Summary
The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, renewable contract instructor.


Detailed Position Information
The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, renewable contract instructor.
Primary duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Applied Percussion, supervision of graduate students and adjunct assistants in the area. Secondary duties include leading the University of Alabama Percussion Ensemble. Anticipated course load: the equivalent of 12 credit hours per semester. (Teaching load may vary from semester to semester, with the balance filled by related course work.)
Review of applications will begin immediately, and the position will remain open until filled. Appointment date is 8/16/2026.


Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in music is required (percussion performance preferred.
Evidence of successful college level teaching experience is required.


Preferred Qualifications
An earned DMA degree or candidates in ABD status is preferred.
