Job description

Job Summary:
  • Support fixed asset accounting and general ledger functions within the accounting department.
  • Collaborate with multiple business units for accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation.
  • Analyze, review, and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts such as Receivable, Prepaid, and Accrual accounts.
  • Prepare and post correcting journal entries as needed.
  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, including recording asset additions and disposals.
  • Reconcile fixed asset ledger to general ledger balances.
  • Ensure compliance with asset capitalization policies and guidelines.
  • Investigate and resolve variances or unusual account activity.
  • Provide documentation and support for audits and internal reporting.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support the accounting department.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in fixed asset accounting is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with various business units.
Industry Experience:
  • Accounting experience in an educational setting is a plus.
Other Details:
  • No variable compensation, relocation, or sponsorship available.
  • Position is a backfill and requires on-site attendance.
