    Job description

    About the Role


    Mercy House is seeking a detail-oriented Grant Compliance & Administration Specialist to manage state and federal housing grants, with a focus on programs funded through the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). This role ensures compliance, financial accuracy, and audit readiness across all grant activities.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Oversee compliance with DHCD and other grant requirements 
    • Manage CAMS portal, including drawdowns and reporting 
    • Track grant budgets, expenditures, and documentation 
    • Review expenses to ensure alignment with approved funding 
    • Maintain audit-ready records and reports 
    • Support Finance Committee and audit requests 


    Qualifications


    • 3+ years of grant administration or financial oversight experience 
    • Experience with government grants (DHCD, HUD, or similar) preferred 
    • Strong Excel and financial tracking skills 
    • Detail-oriented with ability to interpret regulations

Mercy House serves the City of Harrisonburg and provides services to clients within Rockingham, Augusta, and Page Counties.
