Job description

Millwright – Skilled Industrial Maintenance Role (Swing Shift)

An established manufacturing facility is seeking a talented Millwright to join its maintenance team. This hands‑on role requires a team‑oriented individual with strong problem‑solving abilities. You’ll work within a group that values innovation, continuous improvement, and ongoing skill development. Our Millwrights deliver high‑quality results through collaboration, technical expertise, and disciplined execution.


Schedule

  • Swing Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM


Compensation & Benefits


Base Pay

  • Starting wage: $35.00–$45.00 per hour
  • Higher starting rates available for candidates with significant experience


Shift Differential

  • Swing shift premium: +$1.50 per hour


Overtime

  • Eligible for time‑and‑a‑half overtime pay


Commute Benefit

  • Monthly transportation stipend of $350 (equivalent to approx. $2.00/hr for full‑time employees)

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Evaluate and analyze quality, safety, and production processes
  • Provide daily maintenance and troubleshooting for machine centers and equipment
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs
  • Complete maintenance reporting, documentation, and parts inventory
  • Communicate proactively with all departments
  • Partner with machine operators to improve equipment efficiency
  • Follow and model all safety rules and industry regulations
  • Train maintenance and operations teams on evolving safety and maintenance programs
  • Recommend improvements and best practices to support continuous improvement
  • Test equipment efficiency and recommend upgrades
  • Maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot mill systems and machinery


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial equipment maintenance experience (sawmill experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as conveyors, saws, kilns, and de‑barkers
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Skilled in welding and fabrication
  • Strong mechanical problem‑solving abilities
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Basic electrical knowledge and ability to work safely alongside electricians
  • Experience implementing preventive maintenance programs
  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to mentor apprentices or less experienced millwrights
  • Adaptability in a fast‑paced environment; willingness to work non‑standard hours when needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Highly self‑motivated team player
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs, and move equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
