ABOUT HOLY FAMILY MINISTRIES

Holy Family Ministries is a unique community that provides educational opportunities for children, youth, and families in Chicago's under-resourced neighborhoods, to excel academically, grow spiritually, expand life experiences, and become exceptional leaders. For nearly forty years, Holy Family has provided hope and purpose, rooted in faith, through the transforming power of education. Approximately 500+ children, across four programs and each experiencing the chance for a brighter future. At Holy Family, Excellence in Education goes beyond just the classroom, ensuring every child has the chance to succeed in school and in life.

Our programs strengthen communities by educating youth for entrance into high-performing high schools; instill in youth the values, character strengths, and resilience needed to succeed in life; and develop young leaders. The four stellar programs available at Holy Family Ministries: 1) Little Learners Academy - Early learning education, 2) Holy Family School - Education for K-8, 3) Adventures in Learning - afterschool and summer camp, and 4) The Peace Exchange - youth leadership and violence prevention program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement a developmentally appropriate Pre-K 3-4 amp; 5 program for young children

• Implement the Center's selected curriculum, meeting the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program

• Proficient at conducting child data and assessment abilities

• Provide weekly lesson plans and submit them to the Educational Coordinator.

• Meet regularly with teacher aide to develop weekly plans and activities

• Responsible for adequate recording and record keeping of information required to document the growth and development of children using the Teaching Strategies Gold System.

• Adhere to the IL Early Learning State Standards

• Keep abreast of current knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Education

• Adhere to legal and educational requirements to ensure students' well-being.

• Chair meetings with teachers and parents

• Provide guidance to teachers to ensure that they are performing their functions correctly

• Coach teachers, particularly those with limited experience

• Liaising with other departments to facilitate the school's overall advancement

• Representing the school to relevant stakeholders

• Must be willing to attend after hours school events and meetings

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

• Requirements: BA in Early Childhood Education with Type-04 Illinois Certification or working towards state certification; IL Gateways Level 5 required

• IL. 04 Certification (PEL)

• Experience in a teaching or assistant-teaching position with children 3-5 years old

• Minimum of three (3) years as a Lead Teacher

• Proven experience in curriculum development and implementation

• Prior experience in teaching within this age group

• Experiences with social, emotional learning practices

• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

• Ability to mentor a diverse group of individuals

• Familiar with Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG)

• Familiar with Google Workspace

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• A passion for early childhood development
