Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Commissioning Engineer with a minimum of 8 years' experience in semiconductor fabrication facility new construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ASME mechanical systems, including installation, start-up, testing, and commissioning of complex process and utility systems. This role requires a deep understanding of ASME codes, commissioning procedures, and the unique demands of cleanroom environments within semiconductor manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and document commissioning activities for all mechanical process and utility systems in compliance with ASME codes, project specifications, and client requirements.
  • Oversee start-up, functional testing, and performance verification of HVAC, chilled water, process cooling, compressed air, process gas, and other mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, and operations teams to ensure a seamless transition from construction to operations.
  • Develop and maintain commissioning schedules, checklists, and test procedures.
  • Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment submittals, and as-built documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify and resolve deficiencies, non-conformances, and punch list items during commissioning.
  • Ensure adherence to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31.3 Process Piping, and other relevant standards.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors, subcontractors, and trades to ensure proper installation and system performance.
  • Maintain detailed records, test reports, and turnover documentation for client acceptance.
  • Enforce safety procedures and cleanroom protocols throughout commissioning activities.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of mechanical commissioning or mechanical systems management experience in semiconductor fab new construction or equivalent high-tech industrial facilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASME BPVC, B31.1, B31.3).
  • Proven experience with HVAC, chilled water, process cooling, process gas, vacuum, and other fab-related systems.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.
  • Experience developing and executing commissioning scripts, procedures, and test documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in commissioning management software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam or similar tools preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training preferred.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working with major semiconductor manufacturers or EPC firms.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols, ISO standards, and contamination control requirements.
  • Experience in fast-track, large-scale construction environments.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily on-site at a semiconductor fab construction project.
  • May involve extended hours and weekend work to meet project deadlines.
  • Requires the use of PPE and adherence to strict cleanroom standards.
