Medical Assistant – Spine & Pain Clinic- Coastal Health

Location: St. Marys, GA
Job Type: Full-Time

About Us
Our growing Spine & Pain practice is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions. We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our St. Marys team.

Position Summary
The Medical Assistant will support providers in delivering exceptional patient care by performing clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced outpatient specialty practice.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication lists
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during office visits and procedures
  • Administer injections and perform basic clinical tasks within scope of practice
  • Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and prescription requests
  • Schedule appointments and assist with patient communications
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or a specialty practice preferred
  • Experience with EMR systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment
  • Current BLS certification preferred
