Job description

Purpose Statement

The Associate Area Director role is a developmental, vocational ministry position designed to expand CBMC's impact in the workplace. The Associate Area Director disciples men, develops leaders, and helps ensure ministry consistency across an area. This role provides a pathway for leaders with CBMC DNA and ministry experience to grow in maturity, leadership capacity, and ministry effectiveness under the guidance of the Area Director and Area Leadership Team. While not a guaranteed promotion, this position prepares the individual for potential future service as an Area Director.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Participate in attending training for, and execution of, personal financial support activities for the ministry.

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with leaders, donors, and ministry partners.

  • Demonstrate business acumen in decision-making and community engagement.

  • Engage in donor development and fundraising to strengthen ministry sustainability.

  • Participate in CBMC training programs and national meetings for development and alignment.

  • Provide leadership that ensures consistency of ministry efforts across the area.

  • Partner with the Area Director and Area Leadership Team to execute ministry strategies for the area.

  • Network in the marketplace to recruit and engage new men in CBMC communities.

  • Connect with, mentor, and coach leaders across generations in the workplace.

  • Lead and support ministry initiatives such as workplace Bible studies, leadership groups, and outreach events.

  • Actively disciple men and develop disciple-makers.

  • Live by Biblical standards and model CBMC's MARCHES values.

  • Pursue and embody the vision and mission of CBMC with prayer and dependence on Christ.

Qualifications Faith & Character Requirements
  • Must affirm and actively live out a personal faith in Jesus Christ, aligned with CBMC's Statement of Faith.
  • Must embrace and model CBMC's mission of reaching men in the workplace for Christ.
  • Must be male, consistent with CBMC's identity as a men's ministry (BFOQ).
  • Demonstrates Biblical standards of integrity, humility, and servant leadership.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, ministry, leadership, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Prior ministry leadership, discipleship, or workplace ministry involvement strongly preferred.
  • Fundraising or donor engagement experience desirable.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong interpersonal and relational skills; able to connect across generations and workplace contexts.
  • Effective communicator in both oral and written forms.
  • Proven ability to disciple and coach others; committed to making disciple-makers.
  • Leadership presence with the ability to develop other leaders.
  • Strong networking and recruiting abilities.
  • Business acumen to engage credibly with men in the marketplace.
  • Able to manage priorities, work independently, and remain accountable to goals.
