Avacend is seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel/contract opportunity in Roswell, GA. The Cath Lab RN will work collaboratively with physicians and a multidisciplinary cardiac team to provide exceptional patient care before, during, and after diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, monitor, and care for patients throughout the procedural process, including pre-, intra-, and post-procedure phases.
Assist physicians during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placements, peripheral vascular interventions, and electrophysiology procedures.
Administer medications and moderate sedation in accordance with facility policies and protocols.
Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses during procedures.
Recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac emergencies and procedural complications.
Operate and maintain Cath Lab equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Participate in required on-call, weekend, and holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications:
Active RN License (Georgia or Compact License)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
Minimum of two (2) years of recent cardiac nursing experience
Recent Cath Lab experience required
Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and patient monitoring skills
Experience with IV therapy, medication administration, and moderate sedation
Ability to work independently and effectively in a high-acuity environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular procedures
Electrophysiology (EP) experience
STEMI and emergency cardiac intervention experience
Previous travel nursing experience
Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Schedule & Compensation:
4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Varying weekdays, Monday–Friday
On-call coverage approximately 10 shifts per month
Holiday on-call coverage required
Weekend on-call coverage, approximately one weekend per month
$60–$65/hour W-2 Travel/Contract Position
