•This position works in a collaborative team environment developing innovative solutions for ophthalmic cataract phacoemulsification surgery and vitreous surgery equipment and systems.
•Contributes to the Investigation and evaluation of existing technology and new methodology designs.
•In this position you will gain an in-depth understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the eye.
•Assist in design and development of general purpose analog and digital circuits and systems.
•Support Host computer (x86) and display development internally and with external suppliers.
•Assist development and integration of footswitch assembly and general interconnect cabling.
•Participate in the design and interfacing of embedded hardware using microcontrollers and CPLDs.
•Contribute to taking a design from concept to beta phase testing with manufacturing.
•Participate in product specification definition and hardware architecture.
•Participate in design reviews supporting electronic hardware development.
•Applies fundamental analytical techniques to identify the most appropriate option or to adapt or improve existing approaches.
•Ensures regulatory / statutory / legislative compliance for all project work.
