Revolution Healthcare Services is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Ohio.

Job Opportunity โ€“ Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse โ€“ Ohio

Start Date: July 13, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, or combination based on staffing needs); reviewed every 4-week scheduling period

Highlights:

  • Specialty oncology-focused medical-surgical and telemetry unit with PCU assignments
  • Patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU, 1:4-5 for medical-surgical patients

  • 72-hour orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical/telemetry experience, with at least 1 year current specialty experience
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Experience with patient ratios of 4-5 patients
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership)
  • Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing

Clinical Skills & Competencies:

  • Cardiac monitoring: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, unit-based telemetry monitoring
  • IV therapy: blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs
  • Respiratory care: BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, tracheostomy management, ABG interpretation
  • Medication management: heparin protocols, cardiac drips (no titration), PCA, IV insulin protocols
  • Specialized care: feeding tube management, pre/post hemodialysis care, surgical drain management
  • Emergency response: use of Rapid Response/Code teams, isolation precautions

Patient Population:

  • Adults and geriatric patients (daily census of 12 beds)
  • Active oncology diagnoses including solid tumors and hematology patients
  • Post-operative oncology patients and oncology workup admissions
  • Medical conditions including COPD, CHF, sepsis, neutropenic fevers, pneumonia, and more
  • Correctional healthcare setting with inmate population (CO to inmate ratio 1:2)

Support Services Available:

  • IV Teams, Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy
  • Pharmacy, Radiology, Interpretation Services
  • Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Transportation, Unit Secretary

Additional Information:

  • Float required to other medical-surgical units within the cancer specialty tower
  • One pre-approved time off period available
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
  • Former employees eligible after 6+ months away from the facility
