Job description

Position Summary
The Sales Training and Logistics Manager serves our internal and external customers by the proper training, development and scheduling of our Merchandisers to maximize customer service by ensuring that standards are executed in the marketplace; provide coverage for Territory Account Managers during absences from work (e.g. vacation, personal days) so the company can meet sales and profitability goals.
Essential Functions
  • Manages and controls budget, labor dollars and company assets through proper scheduling (e.g. full time and part time labor, company vehicle assignments) while maximizing customer service; communicates schedule to employees and makes necessary adjustments to provide coverage.

  • Manages, trains and develops employees to ensure that they are performing job duties in accordance with established company standards.

  • Works with customers and Pepsi Management team to resolve problems and issues that occur in the marketplace.

  • Cross train in all areas of Sales (i.e. Geobox Area Manager, Territory Account Manager) to provide coverage for these employees when they are absent from work.

  • Distributes and tracks uniforms, Point of Sale Materials and coupons for location.

  • Conducts account evaluations to ensure that all company standards (e.g. rotation, base wrap, POS materials) are executed in the market; works with employees to correct any standards issues in the market.

  • Completes store resets in market and communicates store resets to Sales Team; stocks, rotates and displays all products to established standards (e.g. coolers, vendors, shelf and displays).

  • Ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met, followed and maintained in accordance with established company policy (e.g. OSHA and safety compliance, Federal/State/Local laws).

  • Communicates with co-workers, employees and customers verbally and in writing regarding policy and procedure changes, departmental activities, operational feedback and other information.

  • Completes labor reports, service history and issues reports, marketplace standards reports, weekly schedules, corrective action notices and other paperwork according to established company policy; reviews and approves time off requests and time cards.

  • Maintains confidentiality of financial information, promotions, pricing, CMA contracts, customer information and employee information (e.g. discipline, wage information) and other sensitive and confidential information.

  • Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.

Education Level
High School diploma, GED or equivalent degree required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business preferred.
Experience
2-4 years of beverage industry sales experience combined with grocery and/or small format experience and 1-3 years previous supervisory experience.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; previous VIP and Advanced Scheduler experience strongly preferred.
Certificates & Licenses
Valid Driver's License; employee must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
Ability to obtain and meet industry licensing requirements as needed.
Additional Requirements
Knowledge of: retail sales environment; large and small format customers; beverage industry; distribution system; Microsoft Office Suite; VIP; Advanced Scheduler; standard selling practices.
Skill in: internal and external customer service; training and coaching.
Ability to: train, develop, manage and lead a team; work quickly, efficiently and independently; manage multiple and competing priorities; communicate effectively with customers and other employees both verbally and in writing; adapt to change; operate a computer, design and deliver presentations to other employees; relate to and influence customers and other employees; develop and maintain good working relationships; problem solve; delegate, multi-task. Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), including motorized pallet jack, and walkie riders, in compliance with safety standards and company procedures
