Job Description Summary:

The position prepares patient for testing (including thorough screening questioning), assists the radiologist during testing, operates the MRI equipment for a variety of procedures, maintains supply inventory in assigned rooms, and covers call duty, as assigned.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Operates MRI equipment, including the magnet, injectors, independent consoles, physiological patient monitors, and cardiac gating/monitoring equipment.
Uses equipment to properly adjust pulse sequences according to body part and diagnosis.
Demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
Performs daily safety and quality control checks for the system.
Sends images to PACS for interpretation.
Transfers images to independent console for further manipulation.
Reformats and performs post processing of images for radiologist interpretation.
Administers MRI contrast agents
