Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 22 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - James Cancer Hospital and Research and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - James Cancer Hospital and Research.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years. However, must have at least 1 year of current specialty experience for a clinical pass. Interpretation of dysrhythmias. Accessing ports. Arterial line management. Blood product administration. Central line care/management. PICC line management. IV start. Assist with chest tube insertion/removal. High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC). Interpretation of ABGs.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience preferred.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any Ohio State University facility.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Common diagnoses include breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, esophageal cancer, sickle cell crises, and antineoplastic chemotherapy encounters. Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration, diagnostic services, chemotherapy, symptom management, and management of comorbidities. Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls. Uses GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds.

Shift & Scheduling: Day shift 07:00 - 19:30 or night shift 19:00 - 07:30. If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time. Weekend requirements vary based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements: Required to float to other Med Surg Oncology units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
