Job description

Job Title: Middle School Mathematics Teacher


Status: Full-time


Minimum Qualifications: Mathematics (4-9); Adolescence to Young Adult (Grades 7-12) Integrated Mathematics License or the ability to obtain licensure
 

Preferred Selection Criteria:

  • Experience with instructional differentiation based upon learning styles, interests, cultural heritage, and creative/intellectual potential.
  • Excellent scores on Praxis content examinations.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Experience with the formulation of curriculum that is standards based.
  • Experience with ELL learners.
  • Flexibility

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Provides services that implement the educational mission and follows all institutional policies of Metro Early College.
  • Works collaboratively with other instructors to construct and maintain a high-quality integrated learning environment.
  • Utilizes best practices for middle school math instruction
  • Collects, analyzes and utilizes assessment data to identify students' immediate & long-range needs to develop lesson plans for assignments & activities that meet and extend student learning
    opportunities.
  • Facilitates learning beyond the school day through office hours.
  • Coaches and counsels each student regarding his/her academic & behavioral progress through Advisory.
  • Adapt curriculum to a STEM/21st century learning environment
  • Transparency and willingness to share best practices.
  • Plays multiple roles beyond the classroom including student recruitment and admissions, new program development, communication with multiple districts, partnership development with outside
    organizations, and collaboration with other center initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal
     

Salary: Commensurate with experience
