Software Engineer - Piada Support Center - Columbus, Ohio

*This is not a remote position, will be at our Piada Support Center Monday through Friday with normal business hours.

*Must live in Columbus, Ohio or surrounding area. No relocation packages will be offered for this position.

*Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

The Software Engineer role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving Piada's company sites, internal analytics dashboard, and point-of-sale systems with the goal of enhancing our technical infrastructure to better serve our guests and teams. This role is also responsible for maintaining menu management systems, managing third-party applications, assisting stores with point-of-sale issues, and partnering with internal teams to use technology to solve business problems. You will also be a point of contact for guests seeking help with online orders, gift cards, Piada Rewards, and other inquiries or concerns they may have. The ideal candidate for this role will embody and demonstrate Piada's core values, have a passion for development and guest experience, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with various cross-functional teams within the organization. You are comfortable moving between code, data, vendors, store technology, and guest-facing systems while keeping business impact and service quality at the center of your work.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of online, mobile, and internal software platforms
  • Collaborates with Marketing to create new content on mypiada.com
  • Collaborates with other departments to develop solutions to business problems, including creating integrations between existing platforms
  • Manages user accounts in cloud-based software
  • Maintains, updates, and creates menu items as menu changes
  • Supports stores with point-of-sale issues
  • Answers guest questions regarding online ordering, gift cards, Piada Rewards, and other questions/concerns that are sent to the Technology-managed email addresses.
  • Provides timelines and roadmaps for development projects and technology initiatives
  • Maintain and manage relationships with software vendors
  • Provide technical support for operational issues, including production incidents and system troubleshooting
  • Maintain documentation for systems, processes, workflows, and technical solutions
  • Ensure solutions align with security, scalability, maintainability, and business continuity needs
  • Adapt to a broad range of technical and operational responsibilities as business priorities evolve

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CS, Computer Science and Engineering, CSE, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience/certification
  • 4 years of experience in full-stack development, with preferences for:
    • Ruby on Rails
    • JavaScript
    • HTML/CSS
    • C#
    • Linux server maintenance
  • Understanding of user-experience theories and concepts
  • High-level cloud server architecture familiarity
  • Ability to take business requirements and translate them into technology solutions
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to create a structured project plan and prioritize tasks according to business requirements
  • High attention to detail
  • Night and weekend availability to assist stores with troubleshooting, menu launches, and software deployments
