Job Description:
Position Summary:
As a Cost and Controls Engineer you will support the project teams by driving consistency, accuracy, and visibility in cost management across projects. This role focuses on standardizing processes, improving reporting, and providing reliable cost and forecasting insights to support decision-making. You will perform critical project functions and collaborate with project team to ensure alignment with company and project best practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project budget setup and cost structure development, including alignment with estimate data and company standards.
  • Monitor and analyze project costs, productivity, commitments, and expenditures across multiple projects.
  • Develop and maintain standardized cost reports, forecasts, and dashboards.
  • Support project teams with budget setup, cost tracking, and forecasting processes when needed.
  • Collect project production data and produce standardized report to develop historic productivity by team.
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and provide actionable insights.
  • Assist with owner-required reporting and project-specific tracking requirements.
  • Create and maintain RFI's and RFI Log
  • Assist the QA/QC team in record maintenance

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or construction accounting.
  • Strong understanding of construction cost management principles and project workflows.
  • Experience with cost management or project systems (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and projects in a structured, process-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting centralized or multi-project environments.
  • Background in heavy civil, industrial, or infrastructure construction.
