Job description

Located at Atrium Medical Center (Middletown OH)
Part-time Night Shift Monday through Friday (10pm - 6:30am) with every other weekend working approximately 20 hours per week
 
Position Summary:

The Phlebotomists/Processor collects, transports, and processes laboratory specimens.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures according to departmental procedures
  • Accurately label and prepare specimens for testing or transport
  • Complete requisitions and manage specimen receipt using computer systems
  • Deliver specimens to testing areas
  • Maintain equipment and assist with problem-solving related to patient draws and orders
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and departmental policies
  • Conduct inventory checks, train new employees, and maintain a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Some experience or training in phlebotomy or laboratory science is preferred

Safety & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to walk 5-7 miles daily and stand for entire shift
  • Exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals
  • Adherence to safety, ergonomic, and health policies
  • Compliance with PPE requirements in lab or biohazard areas
  • Completion of required safety training and health evaluations promptly
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety hazards, promoting safety awareness
