Job description

Position: VDC Project Manager
Reports to: Director, VDC
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Pay Range: $105,000 - $140,000

We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.

Superior is seeking a highly motivated and organized VDC Project Manager to join our fast-paced team and support complex, high-impact projects across data centers, higher education, healthcare, enterprise, and industrial sectors. This role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical BIM project teams (modelers, VDC coordinators/designers, BIM managers, and third-party BIM sub-contractors), providing clear direction on scope, deliverables, and timelines
  • Own electrical BIM deliverables per contract, including 2D layouts, 3D coordinated models, prefabrication sheets, and install drawings
  • Review design drawings, specifications, and BIM execution plans
  • Ensure BIM deliverables meet quality standards and are delivered in alignment with the project schedule from kickoff through closeout
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Operations, and Field Operations, including regular jobsite walks, to ensure alignment on quality and project schedules
  • Partner with the Project Management teams to identify constraints, review submittals, and write RFIs
  • Manage BIM-related project finances, including budget tracking, cost control, and change orders
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to customers
  • Build client trust through responsive communication, strong collaboration, and proactive problem-solving

Your Expertise

  • Required: You have at least 3 years of VDC/BIM experience, including proficiency with Bluebeam, Navisworks, and Revit, and experience producing shop drawings
  • Required: You have at least 5 years of electrical design or construction experience as a consulting electrical engineer, designer, or field electrician
  • Required: You have experience in commercial project management or construction management
  • Bonus Points: You have earned an associate’s or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • Bonus Points: You have experience supporting projects in data centers, healthcare, or industrial sectors
