Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) is looking for an Inventory Specialist. This position is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks associated with the acquisition, storage, quality inspection and distribution of food products in our warehouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a variety of general duties including loading, unloading, inspecting and proper storage of food products.
  • Loads orders onto trucks for delivery to agencies. Completes bill of lading and assign seal number. Tags and shrink wraps skids to maintain safe transport and delivery of product.
  • Provides accurate product information via internal forms to Inventory Manager/Inventory Specialist.
  • Ensures that first-in-first-expired methodology is used for each order transaction.
  • Inputs product information and maintains the WMS locator tool.
  • Assists with cycle counts as needed.
  • Replenishes pull locations daily for order selectors.
  • Follows all Food Safety guidelines for receiving, storage, and distribution.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food distribution areas.
  • Participates in special projects at the request of the Inventory Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED required. Food Safety Certification required (provided by MOFC).

Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a fast-paced, warehouse environment. Use of forklift (propane and electric) and electric hand jack (4ft and 8ft). Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations. Knowledge of quality control practices and procedures.

Skills/Competencies: Good math skills. Detail oriented. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Warehouse environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Will work in sub-freezing temperatures regularly. (Freezer uniform will be provided). Some night and weekend work required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, pushing and pulling (300 lbs. with use of manual pallet jack).
