Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Embedded Firmware Test Engineer who will support the thermal controls application development team, by reviewing approved requirements, writing detailed test cases, using those test cases to test and verify release items are addressed correctly, and documenting those test results. This candidate will have a deep knowledge of embedded controls application firmware and will provide technical expertise to test, troubleshoot, and support unit level embedded controls application firmware. This position plays a critical role in the Americas regional controls organization, enabling teams to deliver high-quality controls applications for the chiller product line.
This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Westerville, OH - Polaris office location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create detailed test cases based on defined requirements and specifications
  • Test embedded controls applications based on defined requirements and specifications
  • Support the controls application engineers
  • Work with project management and scrum master to develop test plans, execution backlogs, and provide accurate time estimates to complete your tasks
  • Troubleshoot issues with already existing systems
  • Product testing and customer witness testing support
  • Technical writing including testing documentation, user guides, and service guides
  • Comply with the company safety procedures
  • Provide timely and detailed status updates
  • Ensure high quality standards are maintained in a fast paced, highly regulated, process driven environment
  • Other tasks and activities as required by management

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent with strong emphasis on embedded software: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience with embedded controls or PLC firmware development and testing
  • Knowledge of basic programming languages (PLC, Structured Text, C/C++, JavaScript, HTML, Python, Bash Shell)
  • HVAC knowledge is highly desired
  • Fluency in English required
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
