“Youth Guidance is more than a non-profit agency; we are a family. We laugh often, share ideas and believe in collaboration!”
Are you ready to work at Youth Guidance?
If so, nice to meet you; we are Youth Guidance!
We are seeking an energetic, skilled self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. We offer challenging work and great colleagues.
We are looking for a Development Director – BAM Boston to help us improve our candidate experience and grow our business!
WHAT IS BAM?
In 2001, the Becoming a Man (BAM) program was launched at Youth Guidance in Chicago to help young men navigate difficult circumstances that threaten their future. The BAM program is a school-based group counseling program that guides young men in 7-12th grades to learn, internalize and practice social cognitive skills, make responsible decisions for their future, and become positive members of their school and community. The BAM program integrates clinical theory and practice, men’s rites of passage work, and a dynamic approach to youth engagement.
In 2017, after a careful mutual selection process with Boston Public Schools, we began our pilot of the BAM program in three schools! As a result of our successful school year of the pilot program, BAM Boston is actively growing to expand to four more Boston schools by the 2019-20 academic year to support more than 450 young men.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO!
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
This role requires a Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 3 years of experience in and demonstrated track record in development, with experience in the human services or K-12 education sectors. Why? Because you will be responsible for annual fundraising goals for the Becoming a Man (BAM) program in Boston. Does experience or knowledge with donor relations and completing all stages of funding proposal development in the nonprofit sector matter? Of course, it does… but don’t be discouraged if you don’t have it, but you know you have what it takes!
BLOW US AWAY IF IN THE FIRST 90 DAYS YOU CAN…
