Marketing Account Manager Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced marketer who is ready to step into a crucial role as account manager at our agency and grow with us. This position will directly communicate with a number of clients, continuing our history of excellent client retention rates. They will liaise with our much-loved team of writers, advertisers, designers, and developers to deliver successful inbound marketing.

Yodelpop builds and manages rich content/editorial calendars for clients that attract a qualified audience (including pillar pages, blog posts, videos, ebooks, reports, webinars, infographics, etc.). We are committed to helping them grow new leads, including marketing-qualified leads, by converting site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead generation content (including offers). Our marketing consultants optimize marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and social channels.

The marketing account manager is driven by the singular goal of delighting, retaining, and growing business with specific clients by doing all they can to ensure the above activities are successful.

Responsibilities

  • Review content, give writers feedback, and onboard new writers using provided procedures and materials

  • Strive to build, maintain, and create strong customer relationships by ensuring successful delivery on marketing plans and activities

  • Create inbound marketing plans for our clients and enter and maintain project schedules in our collaboration tool

  • Prepare reporting decks on project conversion rates using marketing automation and other software

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and seek avenues to gain new potential clients

  • Generate new sales with each client account

  • Establish and oversee internal budgets with the company and external budgets with the client

  • Work with sales team, managers, marketing, and team members from other departments dedicated to the same client account to ensure the highest quality of marketing assets are being created and all service goals and sales needs are met

  • Collaborate with sales team to maximize profit by upselling or cross-selling

  • Plan and present reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members, stakeholders, and possible use in future case studies or company training.

  • Meet all client needs and deliverables according to proposed timelines

Requirements:

  • Experience working full-time remote (if applying for remote position)

  • Strong editing and writing skills and experience providing editorial guidance and / or quality control

  • Scrupulous attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently

  • Proven experience serving and delighting multiple clients concurrently

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, business administration, sales, or relevant field

  • 3 years previous work experience in digital marketing account management, media project management (managing editor role), website project management, or relevant managerial experience at a nonprofit organization

  • Excellent communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person

  • Ability to recognize quality in digital marketing (web, social media, blogging, advertising)

  • HubSpot inbound marketing certification (free and available here) by time of hire

  • Computer skills and software experience: marketing automation, CMS, CRM software, and Google Drive or Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on superior Sheets / Excel skills

  • Strong negotiation skills, with ability to follow through on client contracts

  • Ability to multi-task and manage more than one client account

  • Proven results of delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals

  • Experience working full-time remote
