MD Event Supervisor

In partnership, and under the direction of the MD Event Manager, the MD Event Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the medical/bioskills education and lab training, and maximizing the profitability of the Oquendo Center. In addition, the MD Event Supervisor is responsible for managing the bioskills technician team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first attitude is essential. The MD Event Supervisor must problem solve, remain flexible, act independently, and use good judgment and critical thinking skills when coordinating clients’ needs.


Core Responsibilities

  • Provide information and coordinate with staff relative to medical bioskills education, training event schedules, and logistical requirements.
  • Coordinate and delegate as needed with third-party vendors and providers relative to medical bioskills education and training events held at the Oquendo Center.
  • Coordinate room sets and logistical components of each event.
  • Organize and select menus with budget considerations for event catering with clients; work closely with Event Supervisor to ensure orders are placed and confirmed.
  • Manage and ensure detailed information is entered into the Event Management Software in a timely manner.
  • Create and produce accurate billing quotes for use of Oquendo Center facility space, equipment, services, and catering.
  • Coordinate with Business Office staff for post-event invoicing to clients.
  • Produce, collect and evaluate facility survey results from meeting and event planners utilizing the Oquendo Center.
  • Assist with developing standard operating procedures and safety policies.
  • Facility walkthroughs and tours with clients and vendors as needed.
  • Compile and provide reports.
  • Assist BioSkills Technicians with lab needs.

Education and Experience Requirements

· Three to Five (3-5) years’ relevant experience in a management role

· Bachelor degree preferred

· Continuous focus on quality improvement and enhanced techniques

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed

· Flexibility to travel for business needs as necessary

· Previous experience in medical/lab administration and/or coordination is preferred.

· Knowledge and intermediate ability to perform tasks using Microsoft Suite and other related software.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

· Knowledge of medical terminology is required.

· Analytical and mathematical skills are required.

· Must be organized, multi-tasker, and able to manage different priorities and time.

· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required.

· Effective time management, organization, and leadership skills


Working Hours

This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with business needs. This position is likely to work hours in excess of 40 per week, as well as occasional weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements and Qualifications

The daily duties of this position are not physically demanding however, the position does require sitting, standing, walking, use of fingers and hands, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting.
