Public Relations Director

Reports to: CEO

This company is a advertising , pr, interactive agency known for understanding how customers think and creating real behavior change around health, money, business, and considered-retail decisions. Services include: Public Relations, Advertising, Digital/Interactive, Branding , Social Media, Channel Activation, Lead Generation and Direct Marketing.

Our ideal candidate must be a leader who will help us grow traditional pr business and expand our capability in social media strategy and the use of “owned media,” to help clients reach their audiences directly.

Our ideal candidate will also bring:

· Specific category experience in marketing to industrial / engineering audiences, health care marketing at all levels (B2B and B2C) and financial services

· Enthusiasm for generating new business

· APR certification (preferred but not mandatory)

· Strong presentation skills and ability

· Knowledge of, and experience with fully integrated communications—including paid-media strategy, development of non-PR marketing communications, and agency account service

· Spokesperson training experience (as trainer and trainee)

· A point of view on the changing role of public relations in today’s media landscape

Our ideal candidate is required to have:

· Minimum of 10-15 years of experience as a public relations professional

· Agency experience and deep knowledge of the agency business

· Experience in developing, selling and executing publicity and/or issues management campaigns with measurable success

· Strong PR writing skills—samples should include news releases, long-form articles, core messages and strategy documents

· Demonstrated success in developing and executing social media strategies

· Passion for the public relations discipline

· Supervisory and team leadership experience

· A bachelor’s degree or higher in public relations, journalism or similar discipline

Results expected include:

· Growing business for the pr group

o Expanding business in existing clients and new clients

· Meet and exceed billable hours expectations (team and individual)

· Build, develop, lead, manage and train high performing PR team
