ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise Shop Floor for production and repair
  • Accountable for Shop Risk Management
  • Supervision of all projects and shop mechanics
  • Capacity and Project Management Planning and ability to delegate these tasks
  • Schedule mechanics to various shop jobs, ensuring that they are assigned to jobs where their skills can be utilized to the fullest
  • Assign priority and process for all aircraft repairs and manufacturing needs for shop
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements
  • Supervise and evaluate work of all technicians, apprentices and shop helpers
  • Perform shop technicians evaluations and assist with disciplinary actions as per Company policy
  • Inspect work in progress and upon completion to ensure that quality maintenance standards are being met
  • Act as on the job trainer and delegate training to other skilled staff
  • Assist in recruiting, screening, and evaluation of shop employees
  • Clearly defines tasks and enforces company safety policies
  • Maintain protocol for all shop machinery and tool calibrations, or delegate to other skilled staff
  • Conduct Annual Inventory of physical equipment and tools, and recommend replacement needs
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to higher-management
  • Delegate projects as needed according to company policy and company needs
  • Keep Shop, Shop equipment, and Shop Tools in safe and clean operating Condition
  • Orders parts and schedules third-party services when needed
  • Work irregular hours and be on call to conduct business needs
  • Understand laws and regulations for FAA
  • Assess workflow priorities and assignments on a daily basis
  • Monitor jobs as work progresses, to ensure that quotes are not exceeded
  • Other Duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Solid Communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Supervisory or Shop Foreman experience in an aviation, automotive, military or similar environment
  • Experience speaking directly with customers to discuss mechanical issues
  • Proven ability to exercise considerable independent judgment in solving unusual work problems
  • Ability to problem solve and delegate appropriate tasks
  • Team focused mentality
  • Ability to read and interpret technical publications (maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, etc.) concerning aircraft maintained at this facility
  • Maintenance of a professional demeanor towards all customers,
  • Be courteous, informative and sincere

  • Pay commensurate with experience.


Qualified applicants from fields other than aviation and candidates directly transitioning from the US Military are encouraged to apply. This position is located in Farmingdale, NY. Candidates moving to the area are encouraged to apply but relocation is unable to be offered for this role.
