This is a great opportunity to work on one of the most challenging problems in today’s healthcare environment. The Business Intelligence Team has made major contributions to a broad and strategic set of projects across the organization. These include the redesign of the financial reporting process, continuously monitoring and improving the entire revenue cycle, and utilizing code and machine learning to rethink how providers process claims. Our team has a diverse background, including business, computer science, and medicine. We’re very interested in candidates with a proven track record of rapidly solving problems with data. As a Business Intelligence Engineer on the team you’ll be working with a talented team to help understand and guide the business. We use a variety of analytical tools, including SQL, R, and Power BI. Our team is a mixture of developers, medical personnel and business managers who work together to build scalable solutions to improve the revenue cycle. Successful candidates will use data to drive improvements throughout USAP. Our team is composed of passionate, collaborative, deeply curious people who love to learn new things. The position is located in Dallas, TX.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

  • Produce complex ad-hoc queries and reports using T-SQL, SSRS, and PowerBI

  • Design and develop data extracts using SSIS

  • Gather user requirements and perform business analysis

  • Data Warehouse development

  • Develop detailed test conditions and test cases to ensure quality of queries and reports

  • Research and troubleshoot data questions

  • Collaborate on problem resolution, team decisions and project planning

  • Participate in ad hoc projects

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or technical discipline

  • 3+ years of T-SQL query writing (MS SQL Server 2012 Enterprise)

  • 3+ years business intelligence tool experience

  • 3+ years of data analysis and requirements gathering

  • 3+ years Financial Reporting experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills. Including VBA, Macros and Automation

  • Proficient financial reporting skills

  • Demonstrated success in developing, maintaining and supporting financial models

  • Ability to analyze and reconcile large sets of data

  • Self-motivated, with a sense of autonomy, initiative and responsibility

  • Team Player


  • High degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle business processes

  • Business Objects

  • Coding in Python or R an asset

  • Big data and machine learning experience

  • GE Centricity Business Experience

  • Power BI (Or willing to learn)

  • SharePoint (Or willing to learn)
