Bilingual Medical Assistant (Ophthalmology or Optomotry experience preferred)
Private practice specialty doctor’s office located west of the Galleria is seeking a medical assistant to provide clinical expertise and ensure all patients receive high quality care. They must be bilingual in Spanish and have strong computer skills as our office uses Electronic Medical Records. We need someone with great attention to detail who can hustle, as this is a fast-paced job.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Provide overall support for physicians and office operations.
Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
Take patient histories and vital signs and log data into Electronic Medical Records system on the computer.
Act as a scribe for the physicians in the exam room on the computer.
Send prescriptions electronically.
Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
Administer Visual Fields tests.
Occasionally give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries.
Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments.
Assist with front desk duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and scanning documents.
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program is required.
Computer skills required.
At least 6 months of prior experience in a physician practice is required.
Prior experience with electronic medical software preferred (eClinical Works).
Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.
CPR certification preferred.
