The Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs a variety of routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on mechanical equipment and utility systems.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Schedules timely maintenance of machinery to ensure full utilization of equipment
• Safely fabricates, installs, inspects, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs either in part or in whole, facilities heavy equipment -hydraulic systems, gear boxes and pumps
• Utilizes miscellaneous metal working equipment and processes such as arc welding, oxygen/acetylene, MIG, TIG and plasma methods to perform welding functions in the fabrication and/or repair in part or in whole, all types of equipment mentioned above
• Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs heavy equipment and shares knowledge of applicable mechanical concepts/principles to other maintenance personnel
• Responsible for the maintenance and preventive maintenance of heavy construction equipment such as front end loaders, off-highway trucks, hydraulic and cable crawler cranes and material separating plant systems
• Will be responsible for on-site preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all equipment
• Reads and interprets mechanical and drawings and P&ID
• Performs Preventative Maintenance tasks as scheduled, and report/qualify results
• Performs assignments as directed or as responsibilities necessitate
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Experience working with Forklifts, Front-End Loaders, Skid Steer Loaders, Trucks and Trailers
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred but not required
• Valid CA License
