TAT - PBE Branch Manager

Position Overview: The Branch Manager of PB&E Sales will be accountable for launching a new channel strategy selling PB&E products direct to body shops in the Denver market. This role will be accountable for establishing the strategic and tactical implementation plans for the initiative as well as executing all aspects of the project plan. Qualified candidates must have at least two years of experience managing sales and/or operations for a PB&E jobber and possess excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities & Functions of the Position:
  1. General Management
    1. Establish strategic and tactical implementation plans to launch a new channel strategy in PB&E in the Denver market.
    2. Develop and lead the sales, marketing inventory management and business development plan for the branch.
    3. Ensure staff follows branch policies, procedures, security requirements and government regulations.
    4. Meet regularly (i.e. weekly) with sales personnel, operations, customers and prospects to effectively assess and address customer and prospective customer needs and requirements.
    5. Provide monthly business reports and updates to Executive Team on progress of initiative vs. stated goals.
  2. Inventory / Warehouse Management
    1. Implement systems and processes to ensure accurate and timely receipt and shipment of product.
    2. Work along with corporate inventory management and product management teams to ensure product offering and stocking levels are adequate for customer demand.
  3. Logistics & Delivery
    1. Work in conjunction with Transtar Denver branch manager to ensure delivery routes meet customer needs and expectations
  4. Sales
    1. Focus on expanding business relationships, developing new business with small, medium and large PBE businesses with focus on body shops
    2. Manage an active calling (tele-marketing) program and outside sales effort targeting all PBE businesses in the market.
    3. Lead collaborative sales efforts to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual goals.
    4. Help oversee the installation of new products and services at customer locations.
    5. Develop front-line, (counter staff to customer) relationships, encourage joint & individual sales calls.
  5. Marketing
    1. Create awareness of products available to customer base.
    2. Coordinate monthly promotions with Corporate Marketing Team.
    3. Provide proactive communications: reports on customer and market activities.
  6. Technical Support / Customer Service
    1. Provide technical assistance to customers and prospective customers as required.
    2. Ensure staff provides exceptional customer service at the counter and off the truck and proactively sells products based on customer needs.
    3. Develop and maintain knowledge of all product lines (paint, materials, and equipment), and understand where to find and retrieve information.
    4. Assist customers with environmental and governmental compliance issues (i.e. EPA, OSHA, and Fire Department).
    5. Maintain customer information and records, as required
    6. Troubleshoot and effectively resolve problems and conflicts as they arise.
    7. Ensure customer needs are met proactively.
  7. Finance
    1. Develop and manage P&L for initiative in coordination with Executive Team.
    2. Work in conjunction with corporate credit team to ensure customer payments meet corporate credit policies.
  8. Hiring and Training
    1. Hire staff as appropriate that are proactive and excel in respective areas of accountability.
    2. Ensure staff is trained to meet performance expectations for each position in the branch.
    3. Ensure knowledgeable sales staff to keep prospective customers informed on new products, services and demo events.
    4. Participate in product training meetings as required, and attend product and sales training.
    5. Train counter and mobile sales staff know products and services to facilitate sales at the counter and in the field.
    6. Develop product knowledge including associated products, liquids and color matching.
  9. Safety
  1. Ensure branch physical plant and transport vehicles used for product delivery meet local and state environmental and safety code standards.

  1. Achieving monthly P&L goals.
  2. Achieving sale goals including new account targets, product specific and channel goals.
  3. Achieving operations and working capital goals.
Job Requirements/Skills:
  1. Inspirational leadership, team building and management skills.
  2. Proven sales and business development skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage P&L.
  4. Considerable knowledge in all facets of the PBE credit process.
  5. In-depth knowledge of management and supervisory principles, policies, and legal requirements.
  6. Demonstrated ability to train employees in customer service, sales operations, product knowledge, inventory control, warehouse management and PBE credit.
  7. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  9. High energy self-starter, self-motivated, strong work ethic, driven to succeed.
  10. Excellent communication skills including writing, presentation and negotiation skills.
  11. Education:
    1. Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience
    2. Completion of required management and operations curriculum or equivalent
  12. Experience:
  13. Two or more years previous PBE jobber leadership and operations experience or equivalent
  14. Two or more years previous PBE sales experience
