TPG is seeking a new team member to join our Infrastructure Team and help us to modernize our approach to customer experience. Our team is in the process of implementing changes that will bring our software development process to the forefront of modern best practices centered around DevSecOps and Agile Methodologies. We are looking for a passionate developer that is eager to learn and implement cutting edge tools and techniques that drive TPG’s business forward.

Job Description:

As a SR DevOps Engineer in TPG’s Infrastructure team you will be participating in all aspects of the maintenance, design, and deployment of tools to support the deployment of our core software products. TPG’s Infrastructure Team focuses on ensuring system uptime and availability by providing constant system monitoring and providing systems that are resilient to system chaos, including unexpected growth, and unexpected system outages.

You will be expected to continuously learn and evolve with emerging technologies and make strategic decisions to implement these technologies. You will work closely with our Product Development Team and educate them on how to use these tools and technologies, while ensuring their delivered product meets security and scalability expectations.

Team Contribution

  • Help mentor other engineers and technical analysts.
  • Leverage open-source technologies.
  • Exhibit a deep understanding of server virtualization, networking and storage ensuring that the solution scales and performs with high availability and uptime
  • Design and build automated code deployment systems that simplify development work and make our work more consistent and predictable. You’ll do this by orchestrating environment deployment from OS all the way through the application layers of a solution.
  • Provide a detailed vision of telemetry across all levels of all applications.
  • Participate in security and architecture reviews
  • Responsible for establishing and monitoring telemetry for all products lines.

Qualifications

  • Strong familiarity with container orchestration and scaling techniques
  • 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes administration
  • 4+ years of experience working as a software engineer, system administrator, network administrator, or related position
  • Strong experience with Linux/Unix systems
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience, preferably with Terraform
  • Knowledge of information security best practices especially with regards to identity/access management and data protection
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes storage and networking abstractions (CSI/CNI)
  • Familiarity with log aggregation and monitoring systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/EFK, or Splunk

Additional Qualifications Preferred

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification highly preferred.
  • Istio experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with DNS management
  • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration, and automating infrastructure provisioning
  • Familiarity with cloud-based solution architectures
  • Experience with automation systems such as Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCS, or Azure
  • Experience in writing software in one or more languages such as Go, Python, Java, JavasScript C++ or similar
