Townsend is growing, and an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is needed for our beautiful, new, soon-to-be open inpatient facility in east New Orleans! You must have the following license, skills and experience for this position:
Maintain a current and unrestricted license with his/her professional board or licensing authority in the state as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Prefer prior experience working with addiction treatment or behavioral healthcare patients.
Psyche specialty would be a BIG plus.
Able to positively interact and develop rapport with patients and their families, professional support staff, team members, etc.
Able to act as a role model, demonstrating appropriate problem-solving skills and stress-management skills.
Willingness to provide excellent customer service.
Able to hear ordinary conversation and telephone communications.
Great computer skills including solid understanding of how to use email programs, Word, Excel, etc.
Ability to use an Electronic Medical Records System.
Able to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.
If in personal recovery, must have at least 2 years of continued sobriety.
Local candidates only (no relocation).

Perform histories and physicals (H&Ps).
Provide medical care including basic non-addiction related health needs.
Document patient notes.
Other duties as assigned by the Medical Director to support the health and recovery of patients.

Our treatment centers are focused on achieving remission of symptoms which will stop a person from seeking drugs or engaging in other behaviors to feel better.
