For this position you must have prior professional administrative / receptionist and billing experience in healthcare plus prior professional work experience interacting directly with patients. You must have the following experience, skills and abilities for this position:

  • Prior experience in an administrative / receptionist / billing role in a healthcare company.

  • Experience in addiction treatment is a plus.

  • Able to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally

  • Able to positively interact and develop rapport with clients and their families, professional support staff, team members and various levels of staff from the community agencies

  • Able to act as a role model for patients, demonstrating appropriate problem-solving skills and stress-management skills

  • Possess an understanding of the role of 12-step principles in sobriety

  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time

  • Able to hear ordinary conversation and telephone communications

  • Ability to multi-task successfully

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service

  • Working proficiency of Microsoft Suite programs.

  • Organized and able to independently perform administrative functions for local clinic including managing tasks and schedule for counselors and client appointments with physicians

  • Knowledge of resources available in the community pertinent to treatment of this population

  • If in recovery, must have 2 years of sobriety.

  • Local candidates only (no relocation).

  • Maintains relationship with other Townsend Patient Care Coordinators and collaborates as needed to improve local site performance by leveraging other sites’ best practices.

  • Maintains patient appointment schedules.

  • Provides daily site performance updates in requested formats.

  • Provides suggestions for improvement to local site processes.

  • Follows up with discharged clients according to schedule and maintains outcome data for Townsend benchmark studies.

  • Ensures that local site has all supplies, equipment, etc., required to provide effective patient support.

  • Works collaboratively with local interdisciplinary team to ensure an excellent, productive clinical experience for patients.

  • Greets patients entering facility and ensures timely start of scheduled meetings with physicians and therapists.

  • Answers all incoming calls to local site and routes appropriately.

  • Obtains patient information releases and sends/receives information as required and approved by the Director of Operations.

  • Participates in scheduled staffing and team meetings; presents relevant information on all new admissions and discharges.

  • Participates in the company’s Quality Assurance program.

  • Performs other duties as assigned within the limitations of position including, but not limited to, special projects and administrative tasks.

  • Works flexible schedule, including evenings, if / when needed
