You must have the following license, skills and experience for this position:
Current, unencumbered counseling license – LAC, CAC, RAC, LMSW, LCSW, LPC, etc.
Prior experience providing addiction counseling to adults.
A working knowledge and understanding of recovery programs in general.
Demonstrated ability to motivate patients, using motivational interviewing techniques without fostering dependence.
Great computer skills including solid understanding of how to use email programs, Word, Excel, etc.
Able to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.
Able to positively interact and develop rapport with clients and their families, professional support staff, team members and various levels of staff from the community agencies.
Able to act as a role model, demonstrating appropriate problem-solving skills and stress-management skills.
Possess an understanding of the role of 12-step principles in sobriety.
Willingness to provide excellent customer service.
If in recovery, must have 2 years of sobriety.

If you join Townsend, you’ll enjoy the following responsibilities:
Providing clinical services via individual, group and family therapy including call rotation, didactics, and psychosocial assessment.
Communicating with caseload of patients on at least a daily basis to discuss recovery plan and symptom monitoring.
Maintaining current information on recovery meetings, events, and providing materials for same.
Motivating patients to develop a strong recovery support network.
Applying patient interventions specific to the DAS structure.
Documenting patient notes, interventions, phone calls, and overall patient data, including Symptom Monitoring.
Weekly communication with patient's sponsor when needed.
Weekly communication with parents/family/friends regarding patient's progress or providing them with their own recovery information.
Participating in "transition sessions" with patients and their families at the end of a patient's treatment episode.
Developing and implementing chronic disease management plan.
Providing crisis intervention.
Providing support for clinical services to other team members when needed.
Working with an experienced Director to meet client/resident needs.
Other duties as assigned.
