Summary The Senior Compliance Manager will be responsible to ensure full compliance with all statutes and regulations. This includes performing or assisting in business audits, reviewing legislation & regulations, and communicating & working, if warranted, with business subject matter experts (SME) to make appropriate changes. This role will be the primary contact for state market conducted examinations or state inquiries all related to issues other than Claims. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and project management skills, and property & casualty insurance experience.
Essential Job Functions
Keep abreast of changes in regulation & legislations and communicate to the appropriate business subject matter experts.
Research compliance and regulatory issues around proposed product changes, including operating territory expansions.
Review non-Claims market conduct examinations of other companies and perform/assist in business audits to ensure. compliance on areas of concern and/or areas specifically called out.
Maintain a filing repository for all compliance and regulatory matters.
Maintain all certificates of authority at the enterprise level.
Assist/manage state rate, rule, and form filings.
Create a relationship network with the DOI and other regulatory experts.
Coordinates and responds to all non-Claims DOI complaints.
Oversee/coordinate completion and timely reporting of Data Calls, including those that are Claims related.
Act as a primary contact point person for market conduct examinations and state inquiries for non-Claims issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
4+ years of compliance property & casualty insurance experience.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
SERFF experience preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Works well under deadlines in a changing environment with capability to perform multiple tasks effectively.
Effective at building strong relationships internally and externally.
Good collaboration skills to work in a high-performance team environment.
Proficiency with computers and work productivity software.
